Survey of North America and United States history to the early 1800s: Native America, European colonization, colonial development, origins of slavery, American Revolution, early Republic, and Market Revolution.
Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion students should be able to:
- Evaluate a variety of historical sources to the early 1800s.
- Describe continuities and changes in American history (e.g., political, social, economic, cultural).
- Construct evidence-based historical arguments.
- Communicate historical knowledge and analysis effectively in written and/or verbal forms.
- Recognize the relevance of the past to the present.
