The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is a four-term cohort-based program designed for students who have already completed an Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Science degree and hold an active RN license. The program caters to working professionals through flexible course schedules, hybrid learning models, and accelerated formats. Students will progress through advanced coursework that prepares them for leadership roles in the nursing field, including studies in advanced pathophysiology, clinical assessment, evidence-based practice, global health concerns, informatics, and nursing trends.
Key components of the program focus on practical applications of nursing concepts, allowing students to integrate their prior professional experience with new knowledge. Faculty members with healthcare expertise guide students through coursework and projects designed to foster the transition to higher-level practice. The curriculum emphasizes leadership and management skills, equipping graduates to take on advanced roles within their organizations.
Learning activities are structured with the adult learner in mind, acknowledging the professional experiences and education students bring to the program. The program emphasizes hands-on, real-world applications through individual and team projects, reflection activities, and a capstone experience that allows students to apply their learning directly to the workplace. Throughout the program, students build confidence and leadership skills, with the final quarter focusing on workplace integration through a comprehensive capstone project.
Faculty members, who hold advanced degrees in their respective fields, serve as mentors and collaborators, creating transformative learning experiences. Assessments are conducted using a variety of methods to ensure that students are mastering key concepts and are prepared for future leadership roles in nursing.
By the end of the program, graduates will be well-prepared to take on management and leadership positions in healthcare, with a strong foundation in both nursing practice and healthcare trends.
